Season 6 of Smallville really stepped it up a notch. While I love the show and look forward to every episode, the past few seasons' episodes have been hit or miss. The first episode, Zod , really opened the season with a bang. The next few episodes introduced a new player in the game, which I was very excited about. I knew something had to happen; especially with him being a major character, where others have been one-hit wonders. Well, until now, that is...
Green Arrow made a comment in one of the episodes: "I'm not even in the same league as you, Clark." I just thought this was hillarious. I love these corny lines they throw in every once in a while. Like, when Aquaman made a comment about he and Clark starting the JLA -- Junior Lifeguard Association. I always have to crack a smile at 'em. But, the ultimate episode in the history of the show (so far) has to be Justice . This is the culmination of every Smallville fan's dreams... well, about the show, anyway. I love the fact that they brought our old friends back for a show. The future is brighter than ever with this team out there.
I expected to see them come back in the season finale, but they didn't. Based on that, there will have to be an apearance next season.
Speaking of the finale, I was utterly amazed at the intro. Honestly, I was scared for a second. One thing that's kind of nice about Smallville, after seeing too many good series end on bad notes, is the fact that just about every season ends with a "to be continued" episode. That gives me faith that there's more to come. Then again, I hate having to wait thru the summer months. Anyway, the intro to the finale made it look like they were wrapping up countless story lines. This scared me because I was worried they'd end the series. Luckily, they didn't. The finale was definitely action-packed with a number of surprises. If you ever had a question about something that was hinted towards, but never dug into, it probably comes out here. Unfortunately, they still leave a number of cliff-hangers. Just to throw in my thoughts without giving anything away, I think the one person is just recovering and will be up and at 'em next season and the other person faked his/her death. Actually, for a second, I was wondering if the former switched bodies. That would've said a lot with the future we already know about the Superman saga -- with people's feelings, and all. Ok, nobody's going to understand what I'm talking about, so I'll just leave it at that.
A friend mentioned to me a while back that there was a deal with Smallville that basically slated that Clark will never wear the superman suit. As long as they avoid that, they can keep making the show. I don't know how much truth there is behind that, but that would be a horribly awesome finale. Imagine Clark being so fed up, he don's the suit. The very thought gets me excited. I can imagine the excitement of wanting to see him in action as Superman. The problem is, that would probably be the only bit you'd ever see, which is why I say horribly awesome. This also explains why other characters only wore costumes that hinted at what we'd expect to see them in. They were all close, but not quite the same. Either way, still exciting.
